Admittedly Spell Checking is not an exciting feature. However, with InDesign's Dynamic Spelling you can check/correct your spelling as you go. One issue that former QuarkXPress users run into all the time is taking the extra step to group their objects together first before resizing them. In InDesign CS2 not only is this not necessary, but it may also cause frustration with the way text sizes are represented after the objects are scaled. InDesign's Eye Dropper Tool offers more than meets the eye. Sampling colors is child's play. With InDesign CS2 you can sample just about anything thing and reapply it over and over again. Why do we use Paragraph & Character Styles in our layouts? We do so to speed up our workflows and to provide consistency to our layouts. We’ll now you have a 3rd option and it’s called Object Styles. Object Styles allow you to format your frames and their contents quickly and if you ever need to make global changes you can simply update the Object Style and everything in your layout changes accordingly. Nested Styles is definitely one of my favorite features of InDesign CS2. With a Nested Style you can apply elaborate formatting to your text as you type or after the fact. It’s all based on the logic that you set up for the style and it could be something simple as a lead in or as complex as the styling in a classified ad or catalog.
